HANDICAP TABLE GUIDE

How to use these tables

IMPORTANT – Your playing handicap is totally dependant on what format of golf you are playing (e.g. Single stableford, pairs matchplay etc) and what tee’s you are playing off.

Steps

  • Establish what colour tees you are playing AND format of play (see table below for handicap allowances for various game formats).
  • Choose the table that corresponds with your choices.
  • Scroll through the table to find the handicap index range that corresponds to you.
  • Your playing handicap is shown under the “Playing Handicap” column.

Note :

These tables comply with the WHS rules of handicapping, that is, the use of  “Machine Precision” to calculate your playing handicap.

How is my handicap calculated ?

Example – Player with handicap index of 2.6 playing a singles stableford - white tees

2.6 x (127/113) + (70.6-70) x 95% = 3.34 Unrounded

Playing handicap would therefore be 3 (rounded from 3.34 to nearest whole number)

Note – You only round your handicap AFTER all calculations have been made.
